Hi
Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
Viktor E.
Frankl
Probably one of the most powerful things I have ever read.
All this coming from a man enslaved in Nazi death camps, not knowing whether his wife and family were alive or dead.
Frankl went deep inside and came up with some of the most effective writing you can find.
We can apply it to mood and state management, coaching, training and, for our purpose, health.
Read the above quote again with your biggest current challenge in mind.
The stimulus could be an 'I've had enough' moment, medical intervention, life circumstance change, negative
comment from someone or a flash of inspiration.
Anything that happens, basically.
The power to choose our action, reaction or plan in this space is OURS for the taking
Stepping back and taking in the reality of the situation after the stimulus and taking appropriate action when all the possible outcomes have been thought
through is where we grow and evolve.
NOT taking this pause and charging into action, or running the other way, reduces or wipes out
our chance to grow.
We are taken aback by the power of nature and how in all living things are in symmetry with each other.
The 'squashy supercomputer' between your ears is THE most adaptive, responsive and incredible known thing in the universe with the infinite capacity to learn
and change.
