Get healthy to lose weight....eat well!

Published: Tue, 01/26/16

Hi

People on diets typically lose 5 to 10 percent of their starting weight in the first six months. However, at least two-thirds of people on diets regain, within two years, more weight than they lost, according to UCLA researchers (2013)

Our advice is: Don't even bother with diets -  we are sure that you all are bombarded by the weight loss empire (note the use of weight as opposed to fat) - dishing out their quick fix drop 5 dress sizes in a week gimmicks.

Diets.Don't.Work. because:

a) Your body has feedback loops which become desensitised the more you diet - making it harder and harder to lose weight each time you try.

b) So many other factors come into the equation when it comes to fat loss i.e. it's not all about calorie deficit as you have been led to believe.

c) Your long term health is more important than how small (or big) your arm is.

d) Your long term health is certainly worth more than the weight loss empire profits. - We have to say here that these empires wouldn't be around today if people actually lost weight and kept it off - their return is what drives the profits afterall - (or so admitted an ex-CFO of Weight Watchers on a documentary recently aired in the UK).

e) You definitely don't deserve to be made to feel guilty about eating food!

So be strong people and be wise!! Long term fat loss takes time. It's a fact.
Don't be one of the people that gains it all back plus more in two years following a generic crash diet. Be one of those that, like many of our clients, have lost weight steadily and have kept it off by:

1) identifying and addressing any underlying issues hindering weight loss

and

2) making one small change each day for better health. It is these small sustainable changes that add up - and as we all know - time flies so, as James said at the end of yesterday's email:

Just be 1% better every day!

Eat well and stay well,
