Making a true decision to change our direction with regards to health is a monumental step forward.
However, we need to build the foundation for change by
doing some work on our inner monologue, thinking and attitude.
Are we holding back on actions because we believe they will cause us pain or discomfort?
Is this REALLY true or are the things we think will cause us pain exactly what we should be doing?
I know I've made a choice against my perceived discomfort, only for it to be
the best move I've ever made!
Willpower is only there for small course corrections...your resolve will falter if you haven't made changes to how you think.
It isn't easy and takes hard work and commitment as the habits you have in place now have had some sort of positive impact, or you would have rejected them by now.
Over
time, training our thoughts to drive our behaviour is more than possible.
Focus on one change a month and it will become a habit soon enough.
Over time the excuses and thoughts convincing you that you need those wrong choices will reduce and dilute.
As we have discussed before try to keep
really aware of any choice that comes your way and ensure a pattern interrupt occurs before we default back to old habits.
Just deciding to be more 'grateful' is an excellent first step!
Hold in there, make all thoughts positive and know every small step is actually a massive
achievement!
