The best teachers are right under our noses....

Hi

Watching kids play teaches us more than the textbooks sometimes.

With movement they are incredible, they will cycle the movement they are doing, sitting, standing, swinging, climbing, squatting, kneeling and sprinting all happen in a sort of flow. Never in one position for too long.

That little pickle that never sits still is actually in tune with the requirements of their body.

Here is our two doing the favourite assault course...

Could the aches and pains we have as adults are due to us losing this ability to tune in to the movement medicine we need?

Are we doing the right thing by compartmentalising 'fitness' into a block of time, only done in a 'fitness office'...in other words a gym?!

Challenge yourself to change your geometry or activity as often as you can for a few days.

It works the opposite to what you would think.

The more you move the more you will want to move.

The more energy you expend the more you will have.

There is no reason to slow down at all as we age.

Telling ourselves that we are too tired to do something is a self fulling prophesy.

Don't believe any of it!

Run, climb, roll, jump, lift, hang, walk, stretch more, you will be surprised by where it will lead you...
