When we were little, being told to stop playing with your toys earlier than you wanted to REALLY sent you off on one.
A little bit older
and we find ourselves a grumpy teenager when 'it's not fair' (think Kevin & Perry and you have 14y/o me!).
Some of us then start to get it, we get wiser and start to realise that we can work hard at being grateful and authentic and that the rewards often come from the obstacles and excuses we work through.
It is this process that
makes us wiser, maybe not just aging?
We all know people that don't get past this stage I'm sure?
In fact I'll put my hands up to say there are often times that I have a 'poor me' moment and it is all everyone else's fault!
These 'moments/ tantrums' are getting less as I progress as a husband,
father, manager, friend and PT.
I heard Anthony Robbins talking on an interview the other day and he said something that made this all seem clear.
'We must be 100% accountable for our situation. Only we can change what we have and where we are and it's only our fault if we are not happy'
Or, in others words from Sadhguru :
'You, you, you and only you'
(thanks to our reader and friend Vinay for introducing us to this one!)
Obviously this is true and we probably know this, however are we 100% accountable for EVERY facet of our lives?:
- health?
- mind?
- stress?
- relationships?
- career?
- kids?
- sleep?
- body?
- finance?
- Write down what you are grateful for and read it often
- Start a gratitude diary
or lifestyle mind map..whatever sits well with you.
- Pattern interrupt when that whingy voice starts up, try and just smile and accept it all as it is.
'I've had many worries in my life, most of which never happened'

Twain
