Are you wishing...or believing?

Hi

'Rather than wish it was easier, wish YOU were BETTER'

- Jim Rohn

We have all done it from time to time, and we all know people who spend their entire lives wishing for that 'thing' to happen or their lottery tickets to pay out.

Probably the most difficult (yet rewarding) aspects to coaching any lifestyle change is helping people spur themselves into action.

When I first started training I wished I had big biceps and rock solid abs so guess what I trained day in and day out? (It didn't work!).

As my training evolved it eventually became the challenge to own a complex lift or a 10km run and this was drove me to get better by doing the work.

Ask any physique athlete, or anyone that has changed their body composition considerably, and they will tell that second to nutrition and hard work, visualising the body they want constantly, works.

Try to remember the following:
  • become the person you want to be..don't wish you could be
  • you ABSOLUTELY deserve the best
  • you wish you could be a runner, wish you could love the gym then you can..what is really stopping you apart from yourself?
  • wishes and dreams are great but it is results that get you where you want to be
  • look for a pic of someone with your ideal body. Be realistic, yet remember you can change anything you want apart from your height, bone size or limb lengths! Look for similar bone structure, limb lengths etc. Movie stars are great as they will have many different pics of differing shapes they have been for various roles. This shows you that it can be done with your frame
  • Above aside, ignore ALL pics in the media. Cover models, people in films etc have worked hard to get to this moment. They will probably not walk around like this 24/7. Even if they do, then they probably have heaps of stress and hard work to maintain
  • you are the best already...just add a bit more each day to be even more
  • failures and obstacles are part of the journey..hit them headlong and learn
Overall, when you find your mind wishing for something, immediately take an action to put you on a trajectory to it.

Could be something as simple as texting that mate who has been asking you to come to Yoga or go for a walk.

Our brains are incredible, the subconscious is always 'listening and watching' so don't fill it with wishes..boss it, and get something done.

Be better, today,

J
