Often the amount of information out there is somewhat crippling and can create so much complexity that it can stall us...or give us an excuse not to carry on.
Of course there are
lots of factors that combine to make our bodies store excess calories as fat, however often most of us know exactly what has got us to where we are.
I keep a basic 8 points in reserve for a quick answer when I get asked the above which actually is we all followed would take us a long way to getting leaner.
- eat REAL food: Anything that is no more than two
process away from its natural source. You could say if it has a label, don't eat it.
- move lots
- eat more protein and HEALTHY fats (see email on satiety)
- Sleep well
- Strength train
- drink ONLY water (yes, that does mean alcohol..sorry!)
- be happy, grateful and reduce stress
- be consistent (show up and do the work!)
Of course we can deviate from the above from time to time, however the following rings true every time:
- You want
100% of the results, do this 100%
- You want 90% of the results, do this 90%
- ..I think you get the picture
Don't make it too complicated and if something doesn't jive with you then change it up...just give it 6 weeks first!
