Are you using ALL you have?

Hi

'We must all either wear out or rust out, every one of us. My choice is to wear out'

Theodore Roosevelt
Are we here to squeeze every ounce out of life?

What are we conserving energy for....really?

Convenience and comfort are here to make our lives easy.

Food is there when we need it, water is available at the turn of a tap and we can get anywhere we want with the only physical effort of not being the steps we have to walk to the train, car bus and suchlike.

Activity, both mentally and physical, then needs to be planned into a block of time almost separate from eveything else we need to do.

Do we want to end our day, week, month our even our lives with energy left or so we want to have used every morsel of energy and resource whilst achieving everything we can possibly do?

I for one notice that when I've had a fulfilling day I'm dropping into bed and asleep within minitres

A day where I've moved little and left things unfinished it's far more of an effort to drop off!

  • The incredible body that we have is the result of millions of years of effort, toil, activity and ingenious development.
  • The legacy of this is the adaptive and regenerative process that means our bodies can get stronger day by day...as long as we go through effort, toil and ingenious development

In the effort to 'wear ourselves out' we can positively change how we think, our outlook on everything and our bodies every single day.

Would it be beneficial to think through all those little decisions and actions that make up our day and in future take the 'tougher' route?

  • cold shower instead of warm?
  • walk to work?
  • rucksack instead of wheelie case?
  • walk in the morning instead of a lie in?
  • family time instead of TV time?
  • cook from scratch always?
  • take the stairs?
  • quick walk at lunch instead of sandwich at desk?
  • walk every evening?
  • carry stuff more?
  • go for that promotion?
  • take that leap and start that business you've always wanted to
There are many forms of stress that are both damaging and also cause growth.

Could we actually make our lives easier by actively ADDING more stressors in the form of hard work towards a stronger body and mind?

That satisfied feeling of achievement should be there at the end of every day.

Every time you hear yourself saying 'I should..[insert action]' then that is your clue to get up and do it!

Wear out or rust out?

Survive or THRIVE?

Let us all make sure we go out with a BANG..
