When I was 135kg I was in denial..

Hi

It was my 'situation' and out of my control..

I had no time, or enough money, to eat real food...

I had to go out every weekend and get smashed....

I needed biscuits to make me happy......

........ and the 20 cigarettes I smoked a day were the fault of the 'cool gang' at college who got me hooked..

It was never anything I was doing wrong as far as I was concerned.

However there was a disconnect.

When it came to NOT valuing myself I was really good at that.

Deep down I felt I didn't deserve the good job I had, the fantastic friends and wonderful girlfriend (now my wife!)

I know now that it was because I wasn't taking responsibility for where I was and how EVERY action I took led me to that person above.

This 'poor little me' attitude was holding me back and I was never going to get out of the rut I was in until I realised that I deserved to do better and needed to change my mindset and habits.

Read my story on the link below for more detail..
...however, the underlying driving force that still works for me today is the belief that I am worthy of where I am now. It is my DUTY to be the best Father/ Husband/ Boss and Friend I can be to all those people around me.

I'm never being THAT bloke again....
In a nutshell, here is what I told myself:
  • you are the sum of your past actions, no one else's
  • like what you have? Then keep doing it.
  • dislike what you have? Then you need to do something different
  • the biggest things come from the smallest changes
  • using what you did as excuses or stating what you 'plan to do' and procrastinating is pointless
  • the only time you can change is NOW so take action!
The future for the fitness industry will be shaped by those that understand the complex science of behaviour change.

Worrying about what to eat and what is the next big exercise fad to follow will be a thing of the past....very soon.

Working hard to change our habits from the subconscious level up is where you will see things going.

The quick fix, shake a day, food shaming, Diet brand fitness machine will (hopefully) disappear as the authentic professionals who give good quality advice with a real life approach will become the dominant force.

At least I hope so!

Take ACTION, just be 1% better every day!
