What is success....?

Hi

......to you?

After spending the morning yesterday  seeing the 'highlight reel' of people's lives on social media I realise how much my outlook on life, and what is a successful life has changed.

People are pretty successful really and, from single Mom's to Millionaires with everything, happiness and contentment seems the same level in a lot of cases.

Once upon a time I measured success by the house people sat in or the car they drove and, to me at that time, was where I was aiming to reach my own idea of success.

Nowadays, success to me if finishing the day knowing that I've come as close to possible to being a good human being to all the other human beings I meet.

  • Have I made a random person smile for no reason than to just make them smile?

    • Have I NOT got frustrated with someone who simply wants (or has to) to go a bit slower than me that I think is in my way?

    • Have I stepped back from a situation that I would have usually lost my temper?

    • Have I apologised first?

    • Have I viewed every argument as a civilised debate and treated the other persons viewpoint with respect?

    • Do I take TOTAL ownership of my situation, my actions and my mood?

I doubt I will ever have a day where I do manage all the above...

However, isn't a day where we recognise where we could improve the ultimate success in itself?

Priorities change and responsibilities are part of life so we all only have a finite amount of focus on what is important to us.

    We can't do it all..

'we don't need to be great to start...we just need to start to be great'

    Zig Ziglar

Can we fan those sparks of change that will lead to personal success a bit more, day by day?

Reposition your success goals away from material objects and make yourself and your happiness your biggest SUCCESS..
