Imagine the last word in a crossword, or that final piece of a jigsaw puzzle.
This is the pivotal point
where it all fits together!
So, someone that has all their routines and disciplines set up will often find one thing that makes it all fit together in this health ‘puzzle’.
For them, the ‘quick fix’ or one thing WILL Work.
However, think about how much work has gone into GETTING to this stage?
When you first tip a jigsaw puzzle out of a box or start a crossword, what goes through your mind?
- find the
corners
- start with the easy clues
- start organising
You find a process right? And then ENJOY the journey...isn't that the whole point?!
We even coach
our kids to apply this to learning, life and sports.
So, why then, do we approach a plan to get fit like we are trying to do a jigsaw puzzle in the dark?
- trial, error and guesswork
- expecting that one
piece will have all the answers
- by feel only, rather than turning the light on....really looking for the patterns
- just want the end result, NOT enjoying the journey
We...are...incredibly complicated!
BUT, that is what makes us incredibly robust, strong, adaptive and pretty much indestructible.
Whether you are standing at the beginning of your health journey, stuck at a plateau or even very close to your optimum health, we can all keep motivation high by approaching it all one piece at a time.
- ENJOY looking around problems
- ENJOY the hard work
- ENJOY finding that discipline deep inside you
- ENJOY research, learning and challenging your current beliefs
I am so blessed to see these tiny pieces fall into place in others nearly every day as I’m coaching.
Sometimes it takes years
Sometimes it is not physical, it is
mental
Sometimes it is nothing short of miraculous
I am not exaggerating, I don’t get my unconditional love of the human body from Instagram videos, muscle magazines or even text books.
I get it from watching normal, down to earth, humble people made speechless with emotion when they reach the next level when all the pieces fall into place.
Then it is time for the next, bigger and more complicated puzzle..
- Illuminate your puzzle with the help of a coach or some good resources.
- Develop a hunger for discipline and challenging yourself.
- Know that you will find a path you enjoy, and all those pieces add up to the whole!
