I hear 'moderation' being quoted often as a tool or weapon with regards to fat loss and health goals.
It is a vital part of the mix, and the key to long term success, however I found myself completely agreeing with Kevin Geary on the Rebooted Body Podcast the other day when he described moderation as the prize you EARN for the hard work you put in to change behaviours on our health journey.
You don't wake up in the morning saying I'm just going to go out
today and use my 'moderation tool' and be moderate when it comes to health do you?
Moderation is earned!
- It comes form tackling any negative habits with regards to health
- It comes from addressing behaviours and self-talk that stops us reaching our peak health
- It comes from reducing the need to sedate or comfort ourselves with external things such as food, shopping, alcohol or drugs
- Discipline gives us the freedom and energy (mental and physical) to live an awesome life
Moderation, maintenance, discipline and showing up to do the work should be the target for us all.
Practice at this, little by little, day by day...yet expect and embrace the 'failures' as these are there to teach us.
Make moderation a habit.
