- What would our eulogy be like?
- How would we be remembered?
- Have we achieved anything that lives
on, way past our time?
Poignant questions, and I find when I get such a thing as a rare 5 minutes to think of such things, I find it brings a good perspective.
Your definition of success is different to everyone else's, are you on track, or are
you already there?
We have all seen the memes and post on social media highlighting the biggest regrets, happiest feelings and thoughts from those in the last throws of life.
- No one says that they needed more money
- No one says that they
wished they had worked more
- Many wish they had judged themselves and others less, and embraced more
- Those that feel complete have become so through those people around them that they have loved
The underpinning theme throughout is mostly based around others and the relationship that
they have had them...
So...would the below be a good value or discipline to follow?
Finish every day knowing that we have done our utmost to be a positive influence in every interaction with every living
thing we've come into contact with
Could we slow down in all our interactions with others to be really present, give a compliment, make a child laugh...or even just a smile as you pass in the street?
- Wouldn't a successful day be one where you have left EVERY person
you came into contact with a little bit happier that before you met them?
- EVEN those interactions that had the potential to be volatile?
Where would this leave you in many years time when you are
contemplating all those years behind you?
I'd say that would be the pretty successful, and you would leave this world smiling...
