Happy New Year!

Published: Mon, 01/01/18

Hi

Well, here we are at one of the most exciting times of the year!

Some, well deserved, time off over and now we look to the future as things return to ‘normal’.

I absolutely love New Year.

From a coaching perpspective I meet a new bunch of clients and also 30 or so children all joining our kids Rugby classes. It is a time of new relationships, achieveble targets and fresh passions for all we come into contact with.

Personally, I also find the head space I get over the seasonal break, lets all the previous years training and studying arrange itself.

And, therein lies what I MUST remember when all the new ventures ramp up in quarter 1 and beyond.

Anyone joining our coaching programs needs head space to absorb all that we put across at their own speed and, most importantly, what jives  with them.

I love lifting and you won’t get me at a hula hoop class.

One of my clients LOVES hula-hooping but would take or leave the resistance training.

This has changed..

Turns out my relentless passion for all things health and constant highlighting of what tiny, yet highly effective, changes happens after every repetition, move or even stretch within our body and brains has sunk in. They now LOVE lifting too.

Anyone will do well when they are ENJOYING and VALUING what they are doing.

THAT is what a coach is always trying to do..

Flow state, passion, total absorption or complete obsession is highly personal..and can be developed.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it.

Focus us on building a strong body, notice the improvements in PERFORMANCE and how you FEEL on a daily basis.

How you LOOK will take care of itself...and much faster if resource goes on the above (rather than expecting changes immediately) or with minimal work (move aside Quick fixes, diet secrets and miracle cures!)

Start this year with a fresh focus on the basics.

- Eat real food (only two stages of process max..and not too much!)
- Drink only water (minimal caffeine/ alcohol, soda!)
- sleep more (8 hrs and bed before 10pm!)
- Move more (walk 6-10km a day)
- work hard (30 min a day of 80% max effort..puffed and sweaty!)
- stretch and mobilise for 10 minutes a day minimum

Drop me a reply..what are you going to get passionate about this year?

Wishing you all an amazing start to the year!
