I remember when cleaning and hoovering the car used to be a full on work out for me, just the trip to work used to leave me tired, and I didn't even have the energy to make it through a day out with
family.
I thought that was normal....it isn't! Everyone gets knackered right?
Energy is NOT a finite resource, obviously we need to sleep to recharge, however we should in theory be able to get the most out of every day as long as we are fed (with real food!) and watered, with some energy to spare at the end of the day.
When working right, our bodies will have energy to do what it needs to do so we can get on with being ourselves. Caffeine etc can only do so much!
The healthier, fitter and more mobile we become:
- the more energy we can get from our food as all our processes work better
- the less energy every day tasks
take
- the less work our immune system has to work to fight illness, inflammation and disease
- the less energy our bodies needs to recover from cold/flu , missed nights sleep or injuries
- the more cognitive function we have (less brain fog)
- the more we want to work out, this is last but far from least as it
is a well known fact that the more exercise we do the more energy we will get
Some ways to impact your energy levels:
- Sleep well
- drink lots of water
- eat REAL food (would you expect the same performance out of your car on low grade/ contaminated food?!)
- do mobility work
every day
- move lots
- add on muscle..lots of it
We ALWAYS get back the energy we expend on improving ourselves as our bodies adapt and improve...with interest. So work hard ;-)
Keep energised,
J
