Start from here for a good foundation..

Hi

Mobility is the foundation of an easier, smoother and more energetic life.
The human body is adaptive.

YOUR body is adaptive!

It is NEVER too late to get it moving better...

The varieties of ranges of motion your joints can move through is astounding.

However when we talk about joints it isn't just the knees, hips, elbows and ankles.

A joint is anywhere two bones articulate (move) together

There are an estimated 360 joints in human body:

  • Skull joints = 86
  • Throat joints = 6
  • Thorax joints = 66
  • Spine and Pelvis joints = 76
  • Both upper limbs = 64
  • Both lower limbs = 62

No wonder we can move into an Incredible amount of positions.

Mobility of a joint is its ability to move around its full range of motion without resistance or pain.

Loss of this mobility in one joint directly effects the joints around it.

This can cause stress to many other joints across the body

Poor posture is the potent cocktail of poor mobility and weak, tight (or both!) muscles.

Poor mobility in any joint impacts how we sit, move, lie or even walk.

After time this will effect more joints...see the problem?!

Mobility is a use it or lose it deal..and probably the most important piece of the fitness, strength or movement 'puzzle'.

I truly believe that good health and vitality stems from starting with mobility before all else.

  1. Improve mobility of all joints
  2. Add movement and strength
  3. Improve mobility of all joints
  4. Add movement and strength

^^^^EVERY day!

^^^^as much as possible!

We service our cars, have regular check ups at the Doctors and the Dentist...so why not 'check in' with your 360 bendy bits at some point in the day?

I'd argue that taking that 5 to 10 minutes to check in with your body with a good mobility and stretching session is MORE impactful than any other 'check up'.

(all are needed though of course!)

If you move better, you will move more.

If you move more, you will get healthier.
