Most animals need attention but only humans...

Hi

....need acknowledgment!

  • A lion doesn't need a round of applause when it makes a kill for the pride..
  • A dog wags its tail because it is ridiculously happy to see you, not to gain your approval...
  • A cat, well they just don't really need anyone do they? ;-)

We are intrinsically community led as humans. An outcast would find it extremely difficult to survive.

Along with our development of cognition and self awareness came an extra level of dependency on others through what they think of us and the innate need to be part of the group.

This invariably creates the them OR us culture that we are repeated throughout history.

So, how can this affect our health journey?

It can propel us forward through the concept of social support.

BUT it can hinder us if we succumb to the constant need for acknowledgement from others.

We have all seen posts highlighting successes on social media..and done it ourselves I'm sure (I know I have!).

It is mainly positive in response, however we need to ensure that we are making the right choices for OURSELVES!

Not to show off..

Not to impress others..

These right choices should just be what we do...whether someone is noticing or not!

Acknowledgement will come...just don't go looking, and make all the right choices on a daily basis on what works for you.

Acknowledging the beautiful, powerful adaptive organism that is your BODY is a huge leap towards true health

NO ONE can do that for you..
